2005 honda accordance door bug
the correct rear door of my 2005 Accord can only be opened from the outside. i asked a mechanic for a quote to repair. he told me he wouldn't know how much the repair cost would be until he takes it autonomously. ( i vaguely remember he would charge $100-$150 to takes apart the door).
that was almost a year ago. now i started to have a couple of new bug with the doors. at present the key play tricks doesn't work. when i click the push on the primal, i can hear the doors are trying to do something, but it doesn't unlock. another new issue is the driver side of the window doesn't open.
anyone hither has an old Accord with similar issues? if and then, what needs to be replaced/fixed and what is a reasonable toll?
i am not certain if i want to accept information technology to the mechanic and pay a $100 diagnostic fee, merely to detect out it volition price $500 or more to repair information technology.
thank you in advance!

Go on YouTube yous volition observe diy videos on how repair door locking and opening issues. I did the set up for $xxx vs. a quote from a mechanic for $400. It is not a nooob chore though, you accept to be comfortable with tools and tearing stuff apart. Most of the fourth dimension it is the unit that has a motor to activate the door lock mechanism.
The showtime door took me 45 minutes, the second, thirty! Feel helps

Your car sounds a flake similar my 2002 Honda CR-V.
A couple of years ago the primal play a trick on quit working - actually sort of quit working. If the commuter's door is locked, pressing lock on the primal fob will lock the other doors. If the driver's door is unlocked, pressing the key trick volition unlock the other doors. The driver's door already has to be what you want the other doors to be. I opted to just start using the key to lock & unlock - similar we all did many years ago. (Unfortunately over the last 6 months, the primal isn't working very well, so will exist purchasing a new door lock for the commuter'southward door.)
So about a year ago the rider window quit working. It is in the up position (luckily) but volition not go down using either the driver's side or passenger side push button. The passenger window isn't a deal breaker. The driver's side window is a deal breaker for me. It must work.

Re: 2005 honda accord door issues
Endeavour replacing the battery in the key fob. That could work.
Likely, your door lock actuators need replacing.
Your right rear door handle does not work.
The window motor could be worn out.
Older cars require maintnece. Acquire how to fix it or notice a reasonably priced mechanic who tin can. Fix as soon as it becomes an effect. Don't allow them build up and lead to other problems.
Or buy a new automobile every ten years.

One mode or the other you lot demand to get this stock-still. If y'all were in an accident then a passenger in the dorsum seat could non get out.
Watching a youtube video on how to practise this is a good suggestion. Even if you lot decide not to do this yourself y'all will have a ameliorate idea what a fair price is to fix it.
You lot should be able to discover Honda specific forums where this has likely already been discussed.

The machine needs to be replaced.
How many miles are on the car?
If it has high miles so xiv years is not a bad run for a car if you are not able to practise a lot of the car repairs yourself.
Information technology it otherwise runs ok so you may exist able to sell it for a modest amount to someone that can do the car repairs themself.

I had to supercede a couple of door lock actuators on my Acura TSX (showtime generation, which was just a European Accord) multiple times. That'due south very likely i of your problems. Betwixt $200-300 to replace it around here, and I guarantee you information technology'll break once more later breaking once. Time to start thinking about replacing that car.

Re: 2005 honda accord door problems
This is a common Honda issue for cars with motorcar lock. Information technology is the door actuator mentioned higher up. Honda uses a plastic part that breaks over time. Costs about $180 to replace. At some point it volition continue all your doors and hatch (for SUVs).
They continue to supercede with the same plastic part so over time will fail over again.
